Description

Community Healing Council

with Dean Hoaglin and Inez

Sunday, February 15th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Pacific Standard Time

Online via Zoom

About the Session:

In most cultures, the symbol of a circle represents wholeness, and the potential for unity. When we come together as an intentional community, for personal development and healing, we are honoring the sacred. We will cultivate the collective practice of listening, witnessing, and holding space for the whole as we heal ourselves by acknowledging what needs to be healed. We will work with the Seasons, Elements, and Nature as direct mirrors for the healing process. Indigenous cultures recognize that the healing of self is connected to the whole community.

The council is a sacred space where we can practice being in community in an open, authentic, and compassionate way.

Reciprocity Contribution:

We gratefully welcome donations of any amount that feels meaningful to you. Your donation at registration directly supports Braided Wisdom's ability to continue cultivating spaces of healing, learning, and collective care. Everyone is welcome, regardless of ability to contribute.

Setting the Container:

We request participants attend the whole program to respect the group and the teachers, and ask for your support with creating a sacred container by arriving to the session on time as the zoom room will close at 10:15 am PT.

At Braided Wisdom, we strive to cultivate an online space that supports connection, presence, and collective care. While we invite participants to have their cameras on to help nurture a sense of community, we wholeheartedly honor that there are many reasons someone may choose otherwise. We encourage you to meet yourself where you are, and if any needs arise around this, you’re warmly invited to reach out to us at info@braidedwisdom.org.

About the Teachers

Dean Hoaglin

Dean is a lineal descendant of the Tamal’ko Coast Miwok of the Huukuiko Band from the village of Etcha Tamal (Nicasio, CA), with ancestral ties to Olumpali (Novato, CA) and Liwanelowa (Sausalito, CA). For more than 25 years, he has worked in social services promoting health, wellness, and education for local Native people.

Inez

Inez is an intuitive energy medicine practitioner, certified sound healer, ayurvedic and healing touch therapist. She is a trained herbal medicine-woman, mindfulness meditation and hypnotherapy guide. She integrates ancient healing techniques through touch, music, sounds, chants, songs and tuning vibrations from various indigenous and modern instruments. She specializes in women’s health offering the sacred traditional medicines of the Mayan abdominal healing massage, ayurvedic abhyanga therapeutic detox bodywork, aromatherapy (essential oils & plants), acupressure, medical chi gong and reflexology.

Inez found her calling as a healer as a young single mother needing to find natural low-cost medicinal treatments to heal her three sons, herself and her community. In addition, she cared for her mother battling with Alzheimer’s and Cancer by alleviating her pain and anxiety through sound healing, and herbal medicines. She has an affinity for social justice, especially issues related to cancer, mental health disparities, autism, trauma and substance abuse.

Currently Inez has a private healing practice in Oakland, CA - leads several sound healing meditation groups, facilitates a people of color healing circle, teaches workshops on indigenous healing plants, self-love, forgiveness, and mindfulness living; incorporating shamanic journeys to open and stimulate pathways to spiritual ancestor connections. She provides energy healing workshops for local cancer support groups, integrative medicine communities, hospitals, educational programs, and universities.

“Facilitating peace and wellbeing for a Sacred Life Journey.”
