Original Medicine 4-Part Series:

Indigenous Sounds to Heal the Soul

with R. Consuelo Inez

10:00 - 11:30 am Pacific Time (PT)

Online via Zoom

About the Session

The medicine of our ancestors was born in and around the sounds of the natural world including ritual songs, dancing vibrations, and healing energy frequencies. In this session, we draw from the sacred ancestral influences of Mesoamerica, the Filipins, Belize, New Mexico, Tibet, and India with each tradition offering its own medicine for healing trauma, grief, and despair.

Through sound, song, and sacred healing frequencies, participants will be supported in releasing old wounds, restoring soul essence, reconnecting with the calling of their ancestors, and returning to alignment with the heart of nature's Dharma. This is an invitation to reclaim the body's innate harmony... and to remember that healing has always been our birthright.

About Original Medicine 4-Part Series

Original Medicine 4-Part Series is a platform for Indigenous elders, teachers, and healers from all four corners of the world to come and share their wisdom. This series seeks to illuminate the often overlooked and unheard voices of Indigenous people. These sessions offer a psycho-spiritual and cross-cultural approach that may include teachings from the Buddha-Dharma, Indigenous Wisdom, and other contemplative and earth-based traditions. We work with each Season as a teacher, featuring a different guest speaker every Season, so that we may be in an intentional practice of connecting ourselves with the natural world.

In Indigenous societies, there are long-standing practices of honoring the sacred, cultivating stillness, embracing silences, and forming a relationship to deep listening; these practices open our hearts to the mysteries of life. They are the messengers that guide us back to the wisdom of our precious hearts. Join our sessions to explore these ancient ways of being with ourselves and the earth.

We invite you to join any of our sessions to explore the possibilities that lay within, allowing authenticity to emerge as Original Medicine. Each session in this series stands completely on its own. You are warmly welcome to join any single session that calls to you — no prior participation in previous Original Medicine programs is required. Whether this is your first time joining us or you have been with us from the beginning, you will find a full and complete offering waiting for you with each session.

Reciprocity Contribution

We gratefully welcome donations of any amount that feels meaningful to you. Your support is appreciated, and everyone is welcome, regardless of ability to contribute.

Setting the Container

We request participants attend the whole program and arrive on time to respect the container of the session and our guest teacher.

At Braided Wisdom, we strive to cultivate an online space that supports connection, presence, and collective care. While we invite participants to have their cameras on to help nurture a sense of community, we wholeheartedly honor that there are many reasons someone may choose otherwise. We encourage you to meet yourself where you are, and if any needs arise around this, you’re warmly invited to reach out to us at info@braidedwisdom.org.

About R. Consuelo Inez

Inez is an intuitive energy medicine practitioner, certified sound healer, ayurvedic and healing touch therapist. She is a trained herbal medicine-woman, mindfulness meditation and hypnotherapy guide. She integrates ancient healing techniques through touch, music, sounds, chants, songs and tuning vibrations from various indigenous and modern instruments. She specializes in women’s health offering the sacred traditional medicines of the Mayan abdominal healing massage, ayurvedic abhyanga therapeutic detox bodywork, aromatherapy (essential oils & plants), acupressure, medical chi gong and reflexology.

Inez found her calling as a healer as a young single mother needing to find natural low-cost medicinal treatments to heal her three sons, herself and her community. In addition, she cared for her mother battling with Alzheimer’s and Cancer by alleviating her pain and anxiety through sound healing, and herbal medicines. She has an affinity for social justice, especially issues related to cancer, mental health disparities, autism, trauma and substance abuse.

Currently Inez has a private healing practice in Berkeley, CA - leads several sound healing meditation groups, facilitates a people of color healing circle, teaches workshops on indigenous healing plants, self-love, forgiveness, and mindfulness living; incorporating shamanic journeys to open and stimulate pathways to spiritual ancestor connections. She provides energy healing workshops for local cancer support groups, integrative medicine communities, hospitals, educational programs, and universities.
